Papakura Water Treatment Plant has been decommissioned for approximately 15 years, however due to the recent drought emergancy, the need for water supply has become a high priority for Watercare.
The old plant was removed to make way for a new permanent treatment plant. Whilst the new treatment plant is being constructed, a temporary treatment plant will be built to supply water to the local region.
Kerry Drainage & Civil were engaged to construct a new temporary access road to the plant, fit for heavy haulage and large cranes. Whilst onsite, other areas of civil work were awarded to us. This included earthworks cut & 750m3 of aggregate fill, construction of large block retaining walls ranging from 0.5m-2m high and approximately 90m length, as well as bulk cut of the old plant site, installation of under-fill subsoil drains, and approximately 1,000m3 of GAP65 compacted fill.
