Civil Works for Papakura Watercare Treatment Plant
Papakura Water Treatment Plant has been decommissioned for approximately 15 years, however due to the recent drought emergency, the need for water supply has become a high priority for Watercare.
The old plant was removed to make way for a new permanent treatment plant. Whilst the new treatment plant is being constructed, a temporary treatment plant will be built to supply water to the local region.
Kerry Drainage & Civil were engaged to construct a new temporary access road to the plant, fit for heavy haulage and large cranes. Whilst onsite, other areas of civil work were awarded to us. This included earthworks cut & 750m3 of aggregate fill, construction of large block retaining walls ranging from 0.5m-2m high and approximately 90m length, as well as bulk cut of the old plant site, installation of under-fill subsoil drains, and approximately 1,000m3 of GAP65 compacted fill.
