Stormwater Soakage Network Upgrade, Malvern Rd
Malvern Rd Soakage Project involved the installation of 200m of 600mm dia perforated PE soakage pipe, within the carriageway and private properties. The outlet was constructed within Folwds Park which incorporated 3 new 3m dia precast concrete manholes with 28 bore holes, and 1800mm dia Hynds First Defence Water Treatment Manhole.
This project was quite unique due to the presence of dense of basalt rock. Almost 900m3 of rock was removed using methods including, hydraulic breaking, pre-splitting drilling and rock blasting using auto-stem cartridges. Malvern Road achieved a high standard of stakeholder management and client satisfaction.
